About the Teach (and Sell) Your Art Programme

  • TRAINING: An in-person training event (9:30-16:00) on March 21, 2023, with a panel of local experts to help you locate venues to teach and sell your art
  • TESTING: An in-person ‘test and feedback’ event (9:30-11:30) on April 11, 2023 to help you test your new or revised workshop and teaching ideas
  • PLANNING: A one-to-one session (April 2023) for follow-on feedback and guidance
  • SHOW and SELL: Free in-person showing and selling space in Durham City on May 12, 2023.

Topics to be covered

  • How to develop, design, and teach effective creative workshops, with your participants in mind
  • Developing new routes to market for your products and teaching content
  • Teaching diverse learning groups in different environments: supporting learning needs effectively
  • Modifying, merging, or developing content for online teaching
  • Tools and techniques for effective teaching, both in person and online
  • Teaching safely: the nitty gritty of risk assessments, insurance and health and safety
  • Working with venues and other spaces to deliver content
  • Monetising and promoting your workshops
  • Getting and acting on feedback about your workshops

Programme dates and deadlines

Registration closes –  Friday 10th March

The sessions will be delivered on 21st March, 11th April, one-to-one sessions to be scheduled in April, and the final session on 12th May.

We have space for up to fifteen participants. You could be eligible to take part if you have a small to medium sized business, are a registered sole trader, registered freelancer, creative practitioner, Social Enterprise or Community Interest Company based in the following area: County Durham, Newcastle, Gateshead, North Tyneside, South Tyneside, Northumberland, and Sunderland.
