About this workshop

A Createathon is a free and intensive short workshop programme which brings together talented postgraduate students and the Newcastle University Business School Creative Fuse team to work with you on your current business challenges and opportunities.
It provides the chance to work with postgraduate students with varied experience, including developing business plans and strategies for local enterprises.

  • Use new tools and processes that will help improve and develop your creative and innovation capabilities to underpin business direction and strategies, and to respond to market opportunities.
  • Signposting for help and advice.
  • A focused key-point presentation with recommendations for next steps.
  • This support is open to organisations (freelancers/soletraders and SMEs) based within the North East Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP) region i.e. Durham, Gateshead, Newcastle, Northumberland, North Tyneside, South Tyneside and Sunderland Local authority areas.

Benefits to those supported

Designed to support sole traders, freelancers, micro-businesses, and SMEs in the Creative, Cultural and Digital sectors and non-creative sector businesses who will benefit from developing their creative capacity.

Createathon workshops typically run for approximately 4½ hours each (with breaks). Additional shorter pre- and post-workshops meetings will also take place, typically for 1-2hrs each, and these will be arranged with participants on registration.
