Captured for Creatives Spring 2023

Running from January - March 2023

Online, via Zoom

2023 will be the 8th year that the Captured programme has run. We’ve worked with over 200 incredibly talented business owners in this time.

Captured is Newcastle University Business School’s internationally recognised leadership development programme for small and micro-enterprises in the North East of England employing fewer than 20 staff. The programme is delivered free of charge and enables owners of small and micro enterprises to develop their management and leadership skills via 4 half-day workshops over a 2 month period.

Each cohort of Captured has up to eight business owners and a key part of the programme is that each business owner is paired with an experienced manager from one of the region’s larger businesses who can provide an objective sounding board and a fresh perspective. Over the course of the programme, the business owners identify key areas of their business that they want to develop. Through support from fellow business owners and by building a one-to-one relationship with their manager/mentor they leave the programme with an action plan for taking their business forward.

The Captured for Creatives programme is specifically foe creative business owners and practitioners. We will help you develop the personal and business skills that you need to develop your creative business. The time you commit to the programme is not time away from your business – it is time spent developing yourself and your business.

You will be part of a cohort of 6-8 similar businesses and peers with the majority of your time focused on harnessing the skills and expertise of your ‘manager’ to help you develop a better understanding of your opportunities and needs, and how to address challenges you face in achieving your aims, but you will also have plenty of time for peer-to-peer learning within your group.

All workshops will take place online via Zoom on the following dates (final times tbc):

  • Workshop 1 – Thursday 26th January

  • Workshop 2 – Thursday 9th February

  • Workshop 3 – Thursday 2nd March

  • Workshop 4 – Thursday 23rd March
