Experienced in public service roles and higher education support service leadership and management at organisational and regional levels.
Possesses over two decades of leadership and management experience in grant funding; partnership and stakeholder management; project management and delivery of complex strategic projects; governance and compliance. Key projects include North East Stem Cell Institute, capital developments on the Campus for Ageing and Vitality, Great North Museum, Newcastle Helix, National Innovation Centres for Ageing and Data, and the Newcastle University Centre for Professional Development.
Currently leading the Newcastle University Policy Academy which aims to inform international, national and local policy affecting contemporary societal issues, through the delivery of Newcastle University Fellows Programme, knowledge exchange and communication of our research and teaching.
Early career spanned working in the Department of Trade and Industry (Exports); Northern Development Company (Inward Investment); Enterprise Partnership and the Government Office for the North East (European Secretariat).
